When I answered these questions the first time I didn't really understand what the questions were asking me. My answers were much more general and didn't really answer the questions that were being asked. I was also not comfortable with working with hardly any equipment to create time-based art. I didn't really know how to go about critiquing time-based art either. The second time I answered these questions I wrote a lot more and when in to more detail about each question. I could actually understand what each question was talking about and use formal vocab to answer each question. I had experience behind what I was talking about. At the bottom of the first sheet of questions from the beginning of the year I wrote at the bottom of the page that I wanted to learn how to use different computer programs to create time-based art and how to put sound and images together. Through out this semester I have learn how to do both of these things. This class has helped me become for aware and comfortable with time- based art and understand what it is and what it takes to create it. I have learned many different ways to brainstorm that I didn't use before. I find it very interesting to read the answers I wrote the first time compared to how I answered them now.

three things I learned in class were..

1. One thing that I learned was how export files and videos to quick time files and upload them on the blog.
2. I also learned how to decided what footage I have that is better than others and how to edit it down.
3. I also learned how to go about deciding the format of my video.

(I also forgot to make a blog title for each assignment because I though the video title for it would say what it is but they are uploaded in order and I commented on all of them to say what each one was)

blog review

1. I was surprised about how much I found interest in playing with sound and image. I have never done any work like this before. I was not excited for this class but was happily surprised about how into some of the projects I got.
2. When I first started time arts I was very scared. I blogged about how I was worried about this class because I had never done anything like it before. Ways that I helped myself to become more comfortable in this class was by meeting with you after class to go over programs. I also when we worked in pairs I worked with someone more experienced so that I could learn from them. I also asked a lot of questions so that I could understand what I was doing. I also tried very hard on my projects sometime a lot longer than other people had. Even though it was not always obvious that I spent so long I tried my best in this class to produce the best work I could.
3. The most challenging assignment for me was the abstract video. Although it was on of my favorite projects it was the most challenging. I liked this project a lot because I liked matching the images with the sounds. The hardest part for me was using the effects. I did not know how to take advantage of all of the effects on imovie. I also had a lot of trouble matching up the image and the timing of the image and sound so that it was on the right beat. I spent over three hours working on this project and still could not match everything up perfectly. It was frustrating to see people that matched everything up and spent half the time. I think that the project that came most naturally to me was the abstract sound project. I was not sure how to start this project. I decided to just jump right in and see where it took me. I ended up having fun with matching up and layering different sounds. I thought that I did well on that project.
4. Some concepts that I think that I will take with me and use in my future major of interior design is what design and colors go with the sounds and environments around it. Different sounds and environments will change how the design of and interior is view. I could also use what sounds I would play in the space if I was showing it or playing music in it. Another aspect is how sound and noise would sound in the space I design.
5. I have learned about how to go about running a critique. I have learned to talk to the artist when critiquing their work. I have also learned not to make excuses for yourself as the artist after showing your work to people.
